Effects of Radiation Exposure

The situation in Japan is getting more critical as the nuclear plants are losing their cooling system resulting into release of harmful radiations. The release of radioactive particles is not even a big threat for the country but the other countries around are also at stake. There are massive and fatal effects of radiation on human body damaging hair, brain and heart system and destabilizing blood system. The exposure to radiation results into the instant and quick hair loss in clumps.

Radiation also becomes the reason for killing nerve cells and little blood cells. It can be so dangerous that this damage can lead to immediate death. As far as the brain cells are concerned they can be damaged if the radiation exposure is 5,000 rems or more. When it comes to radioactive iodine, it can destroy either some part of thyroid or all of it. The risk of cancer can also be raised by even a small radiation doses. Lymphocyte cell starts reducing in amount resulting in lymphoma or leukemia by 100 rems exposure to radiation. Sometimes it goes unnoticed without showing any symptoms while in some cases the symptoms are flu or nausea.
